Government Affairs
One of the primary benefits of membership is our active and constant monitoring of government affairs issues through our contracted government affairs director. He is responsible for attending various meetings on our behalf such as city council meetings, water meetings, board of supervisor meetings, etc. MCHA has a 36-year history in the county enabling our government affairs director to establish solid relationships with many city and county officials. We have strength in numbers and our voice is heard when issues arise that affect our industry.

Education
Education is an essential element of our association. Several seminars are scheduled for the year plus our Job Fair. These seminars are free to our members and cover topics from Coaching Skills and Customer Service to Serving Alcohol Safely to mention a few. In addition, we have an excellent scholarship program that offers students wanting to pursue an education in the hospitality or wine industries financial support for college and advanced degrees. Funds are also available for continuing education and certification programs to help employees already in the field to increase their knowledge for career advancement. We also offer a video training library free to our members for in-house training.

Community & Business Relations
A network has been created to enhance our industry's ability to communicate with local residents, politicians and members of the business community. We continually educate the community on the benefits of the hospitality industry and tourism through community and business relations' efforts, that bridge the gap between our industry and the community, providing a "face" to hospitality.

Special Events
To provide informal networking opportunities for our membership we hold bi-monthly general membership luncheon meetings with speakers who address issues that pertain to our industry. In addition, our Annual Dinner and Golf Tournament promote networking opportunities and relationships among our members. MCHA also organizes and is the sponsoring association for Employee Appreciation Day and the Hospitality Recognition Lunch. Both of these events recognize the hard work and dedication of our employees.
