MCHA proudly hosts the Annual Hospitality Recognition Day Luncheon to underscore the importance of the tourism industry in Monterey County and recognize the year’s honorees for excellence in hospitality.
All who work in the hospitality business provide an invaluable service to the well-being of our economy. We honor 300+ hourly employees who each make a significant contribution in making visitors feel special. These professionals receive the Excellence in Hospitality Award. From this group, judges choose ten finalists for the Papa Vince Award, named after the first recipient, “Papa Vince” Romualdo Vicente, from the Sardine Factory. In addition, a Supervisor Award is given to the outstanding hourly supervisor. All finalists, including the Papa Vince recipient and the Special Achievement Hourly Supervisor recipient, receive plaques, proclamations, and gifts.
