BOARD OF DIRECTORS
CALENDAR OF EVENTS
was an extremely productive year for MCHA. While we had a lot of
different issues to address, several individuals came forward to help us
navigate throughout the year. I feel very fortunate to have had the
support of the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, the Committee
Chairs and all of the members who contributed in order to help us maintain
our vibrant hospitality community throughout Monterey County. I feel
especially proud of our initiative to form the Business Coalition in order
for us to work as a community to battle the water cease and desist order.
We are fortunate to have two dedicated co-chairs for the coalition, John
Narigi, Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa and Mike Zimmerman, Cannery Row
Company. And, Bob McKenzie continues to watch over the water
issues and keep us informed. The addition of Dale Ellis as our Government
Affairs Director has also been a big help to us, as he keeps us informed
and watches for other challenges which may face our industry. I especially
want to thank Bonnie Adams, who was there by my side to help navigate
through all of our meetings, events, planning sessions and the endless
list of duties she quietly executes throughout each year. We are
extremely fortunate to have her on our team. The groundwork has been set
for 2012. I wish incoming Chair, John Turner all of the best, along with
the incredible board members who contribute each year on so many levels.
