INCOMING PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:  (Janine Chicourrat, Portola Hotel & Spa)  It is with great pleasure I assume the responsibility and role as the incoming President for MCHA.  Part of our goals in 2011 will be to look for new opportunities to add value to our membership group and continue to grow our fiscally sound organization.  We will continue the tradition of wonderful events, and will build on years of hard work and dedication...

HOSPY AWARD WINNER: This year we were very pleased to honor Hunter Harvath, Monterey Salinas Transit, as the recipient of 6th Annual “Hospy”, MCHA’s Volunteer of the Year award.

Hunter was a member of the Executive Committee in 2007 and 2008.  He has been the co-chair of the Government Affairs Committee, since 2007 and continues to serve in this capacity.  He was instrumental in the creation of the Regional Taxi Authority...

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS:  2010 was a great year for MCHA Government Affairs priorities!  The California Public Utilities Commission approved the Regional Water Project on December 2nd; the Regional Taxi Authority is up and running after an eleven-year effort; MCHA helped elect two supportive State Senators, and real progress is being made on the widening of Highway 156.  Our work in 2011 will be to build on those successes...

ANNUAL DINNER:  Mark your Calendars for MCHA’s Annual Dinner on March 18th at Portola Hotel & Spa honoring our incoming President Janine Chicourrat.  Make sure to wear your green…it’s going to be a St. Patrick’s Day party….little green leprechauns and all!

ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT: The tournament was held at the beautiful Bayonet Blackhorse Golf Course where Tournament Coordinator Julio Rodriguez and the great staff at Bayonet set the stage for a smooth and well run tournament. We thank them for their generous sponsorship and expertise!
